Repair your smile with teeth crowns service in Mississauga
Your body can regenerate skin, heal broken bones, and regrow hairs and fingernails. Unfortunately, it can’t repair or replace your teeth. Once your tooth is damaged or decayed, you’ll have to search for “a dentist near me” to help. Huron Dental Centre offers teeth crowns service for patients in the Mississauga area to preserve their teeth and improve their smile.
Beautiful restorations
Dental crowns are fabricated from porcelain or zirconia, and they can be used to preserve a tooth that’s damaged by decay. They can also provide support for cracked or chipped teeth to prevent further damage. Dental crowns may also be placed over an implant to replace a missing tooth. Some people even opt for crowns to hide staining caused by worn enamel.
The ceramic restorations will perfectly mimic your other teeth for a discrete restoration that restores your mouth’s full functionality. They are built to last, and with proper care, you can go thirty years without replacement.
Preparing for your crown
During your appointment, Dr. Jifri will need to prepare your tooth for the crown. She will need to treat any underlying decay and may need to perform a root canal treatment to remove the infected pulp. If you have cavities, she will fill them with dental bonding and may need to build up the tooth to support the crown. Next, she will reshape the tooth and remove the outer layer of enamel to make room for the crown to sit comfortably. Once your tooth is prepared, you’ll make an impression of your teeth to send to the dental lab, and Dr. Jifri will place a temporary crown.
Once your permanent crown is ready, you’ll return to the office to have it bonded in place. If you have cavities on your neighboring teeth, it’s a good idea to treat them before you place the permanent crown. This will prevent damage to your restoration and protect your adjacent teeth from further decay. Dr. Jifri will remove the temporary crown and polish your tooth’s surface to help the permanent crown bond in place securely. Once it’s in place, you can resume normal eating behavior as soon as the cement has had an hour or two to dry.
