Creating your partial dentures

The first step to receiving your dentures restoration is take impressions of your mouth. This mold is then used by the dental laboratory for custom fabrication of your dentures. Most partial dentures are held secure by clasps that attach on teeth. In some cases, we may need to place crowns on teeth adjacent to the gap to support the partial dentures. Once your restoration is back at our office you can return for a try-on which allows us to check the fit and make any small adjustments as needed.

We like to advise all our patients that getting used to a partial denture is a process. It is normal for there to be an adjustment period where you become more comfortable biting, chewing, and speaking with the appliance.

Over time, your mouth will undergo some changes due to missing teeth. When this happens, it can change the fit of your dentures. Periodic adjustments can be made to ensure you retain a proper fit.
